I like the way Adblock Plus describe themselves in their product page: "Adblock Plus allows you to regain control of the internet and view the web the way you want to". And that's true. Adblock Plus is a Firefox add-on that prevents advertisement from appearing on web pages you view. With Adblock Plus installed and enabled those annoying Flash advertisements and banners that slow down page loading or distract you from browsing will no longer appear, known malware domains are blocked as well.
Adblock Plus allows you to configure what should be blocked by customizing its filter. There are already many filters maintained by other Adblock Plus users and you can subscribe the one that suit you best, or just to create yourself.
What if Adblock Plus blocks the sites that I want to view?
As said before, filter is used by Adblock Plus in determining what to or not to block. When you find a site not functioning correctly after the installation of Adblock Plus, you may change your filter or, define exception rules so that you can keep the current filter selected but with the desired site excluded from being blocked.| Freeware name: | Adblock Plus |
